about.
I’m a communications strategist, creative director and public information professional who believes the best communication does more than get attention. It builds trust, creates connection and makes complicated information feel clear and human.
I’ve spent more than 15 years working in communications, with experience spanning digital strategy, social media, brand development, web design, editorial storytelling, media relations, public information and creative direction.
Today, I serve as a Public Information Officer and sworn deputy with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in South Carolina. It’s an unusual combination, and one that has shaped the way I communicate. I understand both the story being told and the work happening behind it.
My work ranges from developing digital campaigns and managing large social communities to building websites, directing publications, writing for executives, working with the media and communicating during fast-moving public safety situations. I’m just as comfortable developing the big-picture strategy as I am writing the copy, designing the graphic or figuring out how to make an idea actually work.
At the heart of all of it is something pretty simple: I love finding the story that matters and figuring out the best way to tell it.
Good stories deserve good strategy.
